Professor Zhan Jing, the Director of the GPGC Programme, gave five presentations in five days last week, from Sun Yat-sen University and South China University of Technology in the Pearl River Delta to Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University and Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology in the Yangtze River Delta. Professor Zhan’s speech focused on the theme of “How China Contained the Resource Curse: Mineral Resources and the Relationship between State, Capital and Labor,” and introduced the research questions, research methods, and key findings of her monograph on the same topic published by Cambridge Press in 2022. Among the experts and scholars attending the meeting were doctoral graduates from the Department of Government and Public Administration of CUHK. Thanks to the organizers and new and old friends for their invitation and arrangements, these exchanges were carried out smoothly and successfully.
