2026年4月13日

How can virtual and augmented reality reshape the way we understand data and public policy? Students in DSPS3330: Extended Reality (XR) for Data Visualization and Policy Narratives explored this question through a final showcase at the CUHK Library Makerspace.

Working in teams, students developed XR applications that address real social and policy issues. Their projects combined immersive storytelling with interactive data visualization to present complex ideas in clear and engaging ways.

The course also featured a field visit to the Human-System Interaction and Simulation Laboratory and the Innovation Wing at The University of Hong Kong. Students experienced advanced VR technologies and saw how XR is applied in innovation and policy communication.

The showcase also brought together experts from the CUHK Library and VOTANIC Ltd. Their feedback and discussions helped students connect their work with real-world practice.

The event reflects the core aim of DSPS3330 Student learn to use XR to make policy more visible and accessible, and to create meaningful experiences that support social impact.
